An anti-bot Idea
I'm expecting a fair amount of flaming here, but here goes an idea that if it had been implemented, may of decreased the botting, made PVP a lot more fun and may well of made rares and elite boss greens more coveted.
What if Elite spells were favour affected, if the Old God that grants that Elite power needs to be appeased some how through HoH in order for the GW world to be able to use its power.
For example the majority of bots i believe would use a standard monk 55 build more than likely using SoJ as the killer, unfortunatly for the bots dwayna is miffed and grenth is appeased so SoJ is disabled, but a normal player could alter the build to use SS instead.
seeing as the whole point of a bot is to be automated would it be worth there while to have to continusely monitor the game to see if they have been disabled.
It would also make long elite missions a lot more risky with the need for diverse groups depending on favour at the time, and PVP would be a hoot!
if you suddenly lost your main kill/heal/hex spell, or better still, your enemy did.
Comments please.

I've got a better idea, why don't we remove the graphics so the bot-masters can't see the game to write their macros! Or treble the retail price so it will make botting less profitable! Yeh, that will fix everything.
Owait..

First, that would be so freaking annoying.
Second, PvE and PvP should be seperated.

It would just make more people whine and it's another reason for the PvP/PvE communities to hate each other.

You already know it's a bad idea and that it won't get any kind of positive response.

I'm having a hard time deciding how to reply to this. More specifically; in what degree I should voice my discontent about this idea.
There are just way too many arguments against this. For example, 95%+ of the PvE "storyline" monks (so the monks you encounter doing mission with them) are either prot or healing monks with, of course, a monk elite, doing such a thing would make monks a whole lot less efficient, so as a player who just started and is happily doing missions and such, you are at a disadvantage by something that has absolutely nothing to do you, and technically will never have anything to do with you.. That's just wrong.
Anyways it probably wouldn't take too long for the programmers to alter their bots so they have variable builds depending on the favor; so not solving the bot problem, but us still being screwed over..

Maybe i should of made myself clearer, this is not something i would like to be implemented now, this is an idea that would of been in the game from the start, in which case you would not be considering it a change but a game mechanic to deter botters. so i'm not looking for you to sign on it, but comment on its effectiveness and what game play changes it would of wrought.
And bare in mind its a rough idea the actual specifics obviousley are not stated.

Wow, wow, wow!
This does take the cake for the most backwards idea ever thought up.
Translation:
Lets change the game mechanics completely so that people will only be able to use elite skills for 4 hours a day.
Botters would leave because no one would play and the guild wars gold market would be non-existent. Thats like encouraging genocide as a way to end racial tensions.

Legit players shouldn't be negatively affected by measures to prevent botting. We had that happen too many times already.

This wins the award for the stupidest thing I've seen post in about 2 weeks.
PS, The gold farmers would just alter bots so that they don't need elites. I'll assume you know nothing about botting... well actualy your post proves it.
Auto bots don't actually farm greens, the bosses are always too far for a macro bot and the mobs too random for any other smarter AI external bot.
And PvP... dude what the @#$% does you anti bot idea have to do with PvP, bots don't PvP. if you have someon interacting who can't speak english its a chinese (or other struggling nation) farmer. Places were it is cheap to pay someone to play and amass gold to sell.
This idea is so amazingly.... you know what, I'm not even going to bother. The best I can hope for is this is flamebait and not an actual idea, cause if it is @#$%.

So let me get what your saying, they should be seperated?!?!?
Then why do PvE people have to wait for a certain server to get favor (in PvP) to be allowed to get into certain places like UW/FoW (PvE)
or another
Why do all the best looking/most wanted skin'd weapons only drop from a chest in PvP??
Example: Stygian Reaver, insc Crystalline, Led. Sword, the list goes on...
You are simply not making sense when you say this...
I think that the current favor system is a little wierd and needs a tweak but that is just me, maybe...
On Topic:
/unsigned
It might just lead to more leechers in certain "high-end" areas like UW/FoW/Deep/Urgoz/DOA and that would cause about 50 other threads from opening on this forum to say:
"ZOMG, n00b PvP can't hold favor!!!!!!!!!!!11!!!!!!!!!!!"
Just my thoughts

In all honesty the best way to get rid of all the bots is to make players in the game mods (power to ban bots and such) would just be the easiest way but A-net won't do this because people (I know I would on the noobs who think assassins don't need a snare and the mending whammos) would abuse this power.

I use elites to, I'm not a bot, I'd stop playing if I had to change my build every time america won favor. Terrible for pvp, especialy HoH, think how much of an advantage the team with favor would have over the other side?

Un-red-engineing-believable.
I have a better idea. What if the game randomly shuffled your skill bar every 30 seconds or so? Bots just wouldn't know what the red engine! I can't see anything wrong with this idea and it keeps the game interesting for the real players!
Anet, I'm available for that design position if it's still going btw.
